Teen in Action

Lake Orion High School junior Brittney Tarkanyi has seen first hand what happens to friends who go down the wrong path, using, or abusing, alcohol and drugs.

But instead of continuing to watch the trends, Tarkanyi is taking action.

In fact, a small, enthusiastic group of students at Lake Orion High School are promoting anti-drug and anti-alcohol education in a volunteer group called Teens in Action to the community at large.

Celebrates Incredible Kids

The Troy Community Coalition recognized 53 incredible kids on Thursday, February 25th at the Troy Community Center.  Teachers, parents, and members of the community had the opportunity to nominate children between the ages of 5 and 12.  An incredible kid is one who goes above and beyond, exhibits special qualities, turns their challenges into victories or demonstrates random acts of kindness

The 15th annual Incredible Kids Recognition program had over 300 people in attendance.  The Incredible Kid Recognition program is provided to make a positive impact on children by showing how much the community cares, supports, and encourages kids to live a healthy and drug free lifestyle.
