E-Update
December 29, 2015       Season of Christmas

We are call, gathered and sent to be a people living, loving
and serving as Jesus did so that all may know Him.
From Pastor Linda
We make a living by what we get. We make a life
by what we give. ~Winston Churchill

Dear Hosanna Family and Friends:
What a powerful year it has been at Hosanna! Think back with me to discover what has happened in 2015 at Hosanna:
  • We turned hunger into hope by providing 100,000 meals to children in need around the world- by partnering with Incarnation Lutheran Church and Feed My Starving Children, raising $22,000 and engaging more than 500 volunteers! WOW!!
  • Summer Camps- for kids of all ages: Everlasting Love VBS! Drama Camp! Luther Dell and Wapo.
  • In August, 14 youth went on-retreat to ready themselves for the Rite of Confirmation. We welcomed them on Reformation Sunday- as they said YES to affirming their baptism as followers of Jesus.
  • We welcomed Pastor Jen Collins to live and love and serve among us with a special focus on Children, Youth and Family Ministry.
  • We welcomed over 700 people to our building on Christmas Eve!
Even though we have accomplished much together this past year, there is still much to be done as we continue pressing on in our call to 'live, love and serve as Jesus did so that all may know Him.' To that end I want to invite you to help us finish the year strong and prepare ourselves for an exciting 2016 by prayerfully considering an end-of-year financial gift to Hosanna.  Mark and I are making this a priority, and I'm asking you and your family to do the same.

While we have had a good year of giving, especially to special projects and missions, we presently have a year-to-date operating expense shortfall. There are many ways to make an end-of-year donation:
  • In person, by stopping by the church office: tomorrow between 8am and 4:30pm or Thursday 8am-3pm.
  • Mailing a check to the church office (postmarked by December 31, 2015).
  • Through our website: http://www.hosannaforestlake.net/giving/
  • Text to give- text "Hosanna" to 50155.
Any amount will help. Together we can do this. If you have already made a year-end gift- thank you!

I want you to remember that your gift funds a ministry that changes lives. Consider our worship series THRIVE- teaching us about JOY unspeakable, FAITH unsinkable, LOVE unstoppable- anything is possible! Or the Advent Conspiracy- helping us fully prepare to receive the newborn King of Kings!

Thank you for being a part of the Hosanna family and helping us accomplish the vision God has given us.

Countdown to Hosanna's FMSC MobilePack
on April 1 & 2, 2016 = 93 Days!!
God has blessed Hosanna richly. You can   help reflect that love by supporting this mission to enrich the lives of so many   children by providing needed nutrition in order for them to thrive. We need to raise $30,000   to cover cost of the food and another $5,000  for building maintenance following the MobilePack. Hundreds of volunteers will be needed on
April 1 & 2 to help pack the food.

Ways YOU Can Help
  1. Take home a Change-4-Change glass jar and continue to fill it with loose change and/or currency and bring it to worship on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights  at connect360.
  2. Write a check to "Hosanna" (write "FMSC" on memo line).
  3. Tell your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc. about this MobilePack and ask them to sign up for one or more of the time slots or even organize a team to sign up.  We will soon publish a link for volunteers to sign up online for a time that best works for them.

Couples Retreat
Seasons of Marriage
February 19-20, 2016
Cost per couple: $180
(includes overnight stay at Hilton Garden Inn, and breakfast & lunch)
Spring, summer, winter, fall. Marriages are perpetually in a state of transition, continually moving from one season to another - perhaps not annually, as in nature, but just as certainly and consistently. Each season holds the potential for emotional health and happiness, and each one has its challenges.
This retreat will focus on helping  you and your partner identify which season your marriage is in, and show you how to enhance your marriage in all four seasons.

Register on a Yellow Page and place in offering basket or contact church office.
We hope to have online registration available soon.
