WHITE HOUSE CONFERENCE ON AGING POLICY BRIEFS

The final two White House Conference on Aging policy briefs have been released. The Elder Justice policy brief examines the multi-disciplinary response to elder abuse. The Retirement Security policy brief focuses on approaches and programs to ensure financial security of older Americans.

WALKING THE AGE-FRIENDLY TALK-CASE STUDY WEBINAR
The International Federation on Ageing and Grantmakers in Aging

This webinar highlights four age-friendly initiatives from Spain, Israel, Canada and United States. The case studies will examine how outcomes were achieved and how impact was measured to provide insights for others who are engaging in age-friendly initiatives.

The Edmonton Chapter is hosting their annual BBQ, silent auction and AGM. The presentation by keynote speaker, Dr. Norah C. Keating, is Thinking Globally About Aging. Dr. Keating is Director, The Global Social Initiative on Ageing, International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics Professor of Gerontology, Centre for Innovative Aging, Swansea University Co-director Research on Aging, Policies and Practice, Department of Human Ecology, University of Alberta.

SENIORS RESOURCE LIST

211 Edmonton has posted the updated Seniors Resource List on their website. This one page reference sheet provides contact information for seniors centres, government services, and transportation, health and safety, and housing providers. 

The website also includes other Resource Lists such as mental health, newcomers to Canada, and family violence and abuse. 
LIVE THEATRE: CAT'S PAJAMAS

Fort Edmonton is offering seniors 25% off tickets to this Vaudeville show full of magic, improv and comedy. This adult-only show is guaranteed to delight and amuse with the latest and greatest vaudeville performances. Tickets are available at the door or by calling 780-442-2013.

In celebration of Seniors' Week the Westend Seniors Activity Centre is proud to host the 19th annual Older, Bolder, Better! festival. In keeping with this year's theme - FIT for the Future! - the event features a fitness symposium including:
