Greetings Cascade Family and Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to remind us that we are midway through the Lenten Season. Why is that important? I'm glad you asked. It is important because this season can be such a great blessing and an inspiration to all believers. All we have to do is think of the many blessings we have experienced and remember what actually happens during Lent. So, just a friendly reminder of what God is up to on our behalf.

You know the story! Jesus is on His way to Calvary to fulfill prophecy. He endures the pain and shame so he can guarantee not only Abundant Life, but also Eternal Life for YOU and ME. That within itself is enough to keep us ever thankful for the love God has for us. But notice, I said, "He's on his way," which means there is a journey that Jesus takes. And ultimately, in order that we may have LIFE, Jesus gives His LIFE. In essence, God sent His BEST to make us BETTER. What LOVE for you and for me!

My friends, I bring this up because I am concerned that way too many of us are so caught up in the day-to-day challenges of life that we fail to see God. We ignore Jesus' ever-present invitation to "Come, follow me." I invite you to decide to just slow down and center your thoughts on that part of the agreement between you and God when you got saved to "do life" God's way. So slow down, and begin again to experience the Joy of the Lord, which will be your strength. I don't mean to preach, except I do want you to get this. God's love for us, shown in the gift of Jesus--even Jesus on a cross--is proof that we can really TRUST GOD! And in the midst of that Trust, we can find Peace and Joy and Hope and Renewed Faith. So, slow down and remember that God has been right there all this time, just watching and waiting on you.
