News & Grant Contact Update

The  Rape Prevention and Education (RPE) Program , residing within the Title V/MCH Section of the Division of Public and Behavioral Health, designated a new Sexual Assault Coalition for Nevada. Nevada has been without a Sexual  Assault Coalition since June 2014.  Over the past several months, stakeholders met to determine the need and commitment to create a new Sexual Assault Coalition for Nevada.  Stakeholders advocated that a dual coalition would work best: serving as both the sexual assault and domestic violence coalition.  The Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence will be tasked with providing training opportunities to community partners, work towards policy reform and provide a foundation for  collaboration of preventative and victim services, with the RPE Program and the Office of the Attorney General, as required for continued state funding.

AnnouncementDr. Leon Ravin, Statewide Psychiatric Program Director has generously agreed to be Acting Chief Medical Officer in the interim as Tracey Green's last day was February 19th as she accepted a position at UNLV.  Dr. Ravin is stationed at Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services in Las Vegas.  Dr. Ihsan Azzam is available to support our public health efforts, as always, in his capacity as  State Medical Epidemiologist.  Please give Dr. Ravin your full cooperation as we work to find a new Chief Medical Officer.
