CDTC Training Portal

The Training Portal lists all CDD-funded trainings and provides a direct link to early care and education/child development departments at California Community College and California State Universities. Through this Portal, you can search for current trainings and online coursework by specific criteria such as topic, date, and areas of specialization.

Congratulation CARES 2014 Awardees

Congratulations to all stipend awardees for the CARES 2014 year. The Check Events on May 7 and May 9 were a success. We hope all who attended, enjoyed the Resource Fair and the other supports.

We distributed 179 checks to CARES participants, including 67 early learning care givers who work in private programs. The awardees are early childhood care givers working on professional growth training, meeting the requirements for their Child Development Permit, earning their AA or working toward their BA. CARES awardees are developing quality child care in programs that serve over 4,000 children in Sacramento County. That's a lot of children who benefit from care givers continuing their professional growth in early care!

CARES 2015

Changes to CARES

As many of you know, due to the loss of funding, private child care programs are no longer eligible for the CARES program.   CARES funding is available to child care providers working in publicly funded programs. This includes providers that are part of the Beanstalk Family Child Care Home Education Network.

Orientations

CARES 2015 Orientations are offered at Child Action, Inc. most months. If you took classes or workshops in the spring, are taking classes now, or have classes planned for the summer and fall those may count toward your CARES 2015 requirement. You must attend an orientation and apply for the CARES program each year.

Upcoming Orientations at the Child Action, Inc. office are scheduled for:
