Dr. Patricia Dickenson began teaching for National University in 2012. As a member of the Scholarship and Research Editorial Board, Patricia has been an inspiration to many faculty in the SOE (now the Sanford College of Education). She has worked collaboratively with members of the NU faculty as well as with educators outside of NU. Patricia has several book chapters and two edited books in press with NU Faculty, one with Dr. Penny Keough and Dr. James Jaurez (SOEC). Patricia has an intense collaborative spirit and is a prolific writer. With 3 children at home under the age of 8, it is a wonder she gets any writing done! Thank you Patricia for your inspiration as a "budding scholar" and a colleague in our college.

National University Call for Chapters
NATIONAL UNIVERSITY SOE FACULTY are invited to submit a story to a collective book on Inspired Teaching. The aim is to reveal through the authors, real stories of the joy and power of inspired teaching. If we capture the stories and memories we can help everyone comprehend inspired teaching.The criteria and steps for submission are listed below. The explanation and some research is attached as well.
CRITERIA
- Each essay would be written by NU faculty and adjuncts. The essays would be stories about what inspired us to teach, about inspired teachers we have had, about inspired teaching we have witnessed. It might be about leading by example, being passionate about the subject matter, believing in a student or maintaining our passion for learning.
- Each entry would be 500 to 800 words long and address the themes of being inspiring, being inspired or being inspirational.
- All entries must include name of author and story. Pseudonyms are to be used when referring to individuals in the stories. All entries will be submitted to Tamra Wills, at [email protected], by December 18, 2015.
- Faculty may submit more than one entry
