University of Illinois Master Gardeners will be available to answer your gardening questions every Market Day from 3-5 p.m.

New vendors continue to sign up as this new Farmer's Market becomes known around the area.

Parking: Patrons are asked to park in the grass field located east of the Village Hall building.  Due to the Wadsworth Road construction, vehicles can only access this lot coming from the west.
The Queens are Winners!

The Wadsworth Queens are big winners in our minds.  A huge asset to the community, they help
out with our Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and actually run the Easter Egg Hunt.  They will also be  helping out at the new Farmer's Market.  Brooke Witt is Miss Wadsworth.  Savannah Kolar is Junior Miss Wadsworth.  Amanda Hammann is Miss Wadsworth.  Congratulations to all these wonderful, accomplished young women.
Refuse Pickup Alternative?

As you might know, there are several companies that pick up garbage in Wadsworth.  At this point, we do not have a residential hauling franchise.

Such a franchise awards a contract to one hauler who has an exclusive arrangement with the Village to collect all recyclables, refuse and yard waste.  No other waste hauler would be permitted in the Village.

There are benefits to having a franchise, one of which is lower cost.  There are many other benefits, as well.  However, one downside is that this removes a resident's right to choose his or her own company. For a more detailed analysis, please click here.

The Village is reviewing the situation to determine what's best for residents and we seek your input.  Because the companies bill the property owner directly, we have no idea what people are charged. Accordingly, it would be helpful to us to know what garbage company you are using and how much you pay.

If you wish to submit input in order to help us make a more informed decision, please call the office at 847.336.7771,  send an e-mail to Village Administrator Moses Amidei ([email protected])
or simply stop in to Village Hall.
Comprehensive Plan Update

The Comprehensive Plan Committee continues to work on a draft of an updated Village Comprehensive Plan and a Downtown Plan which will be brought to you for public comment.  The committee has made great progress on land use, open space, wetlands, areas suitable for development and accomodations of large tracts such as farms.

The meetings are open to the public and you are always invited.  You can see the progress of the committee as well as its minutes by clicking here.
