As a reminder, our Annual Easter Egg Hunt is this Saturday, April 4 at Wadsworth Park, adjacent to the Village Hall. The hunt commences at 1pm.  Feel free to bring your youngster or grandchildren. Don't forget your camera and baskets. Some of the kids will give you priceless photo opportunities.

Wanna play pickleball?

What is pickleball? you ask.  I had no clue myself so I "wikipediaed" it.  Isn't it great how in American English you can change nouns into verbs and create new words?

Anyway, pickleball is a paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels played indoors or out on a badminton-sized court or a slightly modified tennis court.

Local resident Tracy Taylor would like to get a group of residents interested to play on the tennis court in Wadsworth Park.  The court was recently re-striped to accommodate the game.  If you are interested, email her at [email protected].

To find out more about the game, and there is a lot to learn, go to http://www.usapa.org/what-is-pickleball/

As a side note, Tracy runs a dog kennel on Kilbourne Road and it's a good place to leave your pooch should you need kennel services.
Rain Barrel and Compost Event-

On May 9th, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County ("SWALCO") is conducting a giant sale of products for collecting rain water and composting activities.  You can also purchase from 60 varieties of native plants and grasses.

How to become a Wadsworth Queen-

As you might recall from previous newsletters, we are very proud of the young women who represent our village in all kinds of activities. It is not a beauty pageant; rather, it is a process of how young girls develop into young women capable of giving back to their communities and mankind, as well.

If you have a daughter who might be interested, all the relevant links are below.  I can tell you what a wonderful maturation process this can be and participation can only help your daughter grow into a wonderful young lady.

Wadsworth Queens golf outing-

Get ready to knock that little white ball around on May 17th at the Midlane Golf Resort.   This is the major fundraiser for our Wadsworth Queens and what financially supports their benevolent activities.
