Our free Concert in the Park and Pig Roast was this past Saturday, and what a party it was!

Estimates of 600 to 1,000 (yeah, it's not science!) people attended... parents, kids, grandparents, and assorted other hangers-on enjoyed the music of The Blooze Brothers.

Gary Hansen spent all Friday night and Saturday roasting the two hogs needed to feed the multitudes. While the band rocked on throughout the night, the hungry peeps gobbled up all the delicious roasted pig and fixins prepared by Mary Bennett and the Savanna House staff.

  (All gone!)

Kids frolicked in the jumping house and climbed the rock wall (compliments of Kaye Brothers of Gurnee) while others had their faces painted and enjoyed balloon art (thanks to Tracy's).

At about 8:30pm, a ginormous bonfire, whose construction was engineered by Michael Bennett, was torched.  Flames skyrocketed and almost blotted out the near-full moon and the scorching heat could be felt hundreds of feet away.  The newly discovered water on the planet Mars was almost needed to control this beast.

The Blooze Brothers really got the crowd going and dancin' to the music was popular with all ages.

Our fabulous Wadsworth Queens worked hard raising money to support their efforts to find a cure for Alzheimer's.

As her smile shows, fun was had by all.

Thanks to Trustee Geralyn Hansen for organizing this event.
