LCAP Updates
LCAP Survey Now Live
Planning for the 2016-17 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is in full swing! Community forums were held this week and we also launched our LCAP survey. Please take a moment to fill out the brief survey -- your feedback on what should be a priority is very important as we plan for 2016-17.
The LCAP survey is available in English and Chinese and will be available in Spanish within the next few days.
6-12th Graders: Apply for the Youth Leadership Council
We are launching a District Youth Leadership Council to better serve and represent the interests of students across the San Leandro Unified School District. The primary purpose of the Council will be to offer student input on the LCAP (of which student participation is a key component) however there will be an opportunity for the representatives serving on the Council to develop and work on other key projects that affect students within the San Leandro Unified School District.
If your 6-12th grade student is interested in applying,

California Dept. of Education Release of Data
As part of a recent lawsuit (of which SLUSD was not involved) the California Department of Education has been ordered to release all data it has on general and special education students since Jan. 1, 2008.
Parents/guardians and students over 18 may opt out of releasing data. Opting out is not required and is up to each family to decide. If you decide to opt-out, a printed and signed form must be submitted to the court by April 1, 2016.
For more information and to download a copy of the opt-out form, visit the California Department of Education's website.
