Winter 2016
The team at Heidrea for Heroes strives each day to connect with military veterans in need of a helping hand from southeastern Massachusetts.  We hope you'll take a few minutes to read about our recent move, current veteran projects, and the launch of our new Incline Corps fitness program! If you know a veteran who would benefit from the type of support we offer, please share our information and encourage him/her to apply for support.

New Space, New Face
2016 started off with  two great stepping stones for H4H .  With our expanded programs and increased volume of support service requests, we moved to a larger suite in Cordage Park and added a new member to the team.

Stop by and see us in our new space at 10 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 224 and meet Liam Gale, our new part-time Project Assistant, an Air Force veteran and Reservist.

Celebrating a Milestone Gift!

H4H was thrilled to receive it's largest gift in organization history from the New England Wireless Association in December.

NEWA raised $40,000 for H4H through their Fall golf tournament and presented the check to Founder Jesse Brown in December - an incredible surprise for which we are tremendously grateful!

This vote of confidence for our work and mission enables us to expand our services and help more veterans in need.

Success Readiness Series

Our Success Readiness Series continued in January with a 1st Time Home Buyers seminar at Massasoit. Now available as a webinar, it offers information on mortgage loans and tips specific to veterans.  Stay tuned to our website for our webinar link coming soon on Tax Prep Tips for Veterans.

The next seminar circles back to home buying, this time focused on real estate tips and traps for veterans in the market for a new home. Presented by Realtor Kimberlee Canducci, it will be held on March 23 from 6:00-7:30 pm. Location to be announced. Check our website soon for an update.

New Program Announcement
We are so excited to announce the launch of "Incline Corps", a unique monthly fitness program for veterans!

The program features a challenging group workout, followed by a social hour with food and drinks - and it's all for FREE!

JC Jasa, a Certified Fitness Trainer, MMA Fighting Coach and Marine Corps veteran, will lead a heart-pumping workout that combines strength, conditioning, plyometrics, and some elements of boxing mixed in. It guarantees to be an all-around challenge that will make you sweat!

Calling all Veterans who enjoy exercise or want to make it a part of their lives - what better way to meet other Veterans and get your workout in at the same time!

All fitness levels are welcome and the workout will be modified to suit individuals.

The first event will be held from 6:30 - 8:00 pm on March 22 (workout from 6:30 - 7:15 pm; social from 7:15 - 8:00 pm) at Live Life Believe Fitness Center, 10 Cordage Park Circle in Plymouth.

Drop-ins are welcome but we really appreciate advance sign-ups.

Project Highlights
Making a difference, one life at a time
Applications for support have been rolling in and our team has been busy fulfilling a wide variety of requests... here are just a few of the recent highlights:

  • In December, H4H was happy to solve an accessibility problem for American Legion Post 188 in Sandwich.  With quick turnaround, we installed a fully to-code wheelchair ramp at the Post, just in time for their membership Christmas party.

  • Helping Hands During the Holidays: Heidrea for Heroes completed a Veterans Wish List Drive for the Brockton VA, as well as, helped three veterans families with gifts for their children at Christmas time.

  • In February, we took care of installing another ramp at the home of a Vietnam veteran from Middleboro.
  •

    Event Notes

On February 11th, H4H supporters gathered at Waxy's in Kingston for Bust the Winter Blues, a great night of casual conversation, raffles, and samples of the new Irish pub's food and drink.

Thanks to the generosity of Waxy's and the 75+ attendees, we raised over $3,400 that evening!
