By the Numbers:
45 children were treated to a limo ride and Christmas shopping spree during the recent Shop with a Doc event.
Shop with a Doc is an annual program that provides holiday cheer to the pediatric burn patients of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.
The beauty of the Chavis House is one can come from visiting a loved one, and then be encouraged by others going through the same thing.

New President/CEO Linda McKnight

Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation welcomes its new President/CEO, Linda McKnight. Linda was hired to fill the position after her predecessor, Jo Maypole, retired in November.

Linda brings a wealth of experience to SFBF, including 20 years in non-profit management, of which she spent the last four years as Executive Director/CEO with Cleveland Vocational Industries, Inc. in Shelby, NC, an organization that serves consumers with barriers to employment by providing onsite job training and opportunity for employment through recruited business contracts.

"We are extremely excited to have Linda onboard. Her business and leadership skills, accompanied by her passion for people, are the perfect combination to help the Burn Foundation continue its mission to provide services for families of burn patients at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center," stated Hugh Hollar, Vice President, SFBF.

Indeed, Linda has already experienced first hand the purpose behind the Burn Foundation. Last month she participated in the Shop with a Doc event, where 45 pediatric burn patients received free limo rides and a shopping excursion at Target. "I was so impressed with the doctors and nurses who attended, to see how much they truly care about these children," shared Linda. "I want to build awareness of what we do and help expand the services we deliver."

Originally from the Midwest, Linda graduated from Ohio University with a Fashion Merchandising & Promotion degree. She and her husband, Paul, enjoy playing golf and spending time with their three adult children, Jami, Lindsay and Bryan.
Augusta Professional Firefighters Association donates celebrity-signed helmets

The Burn Foundation was the recipient of a special donation recently when the Augusta Professional Firefighters Association Local 3357 presented Alicia Sweat, the Burn Foundation's Director of Operations, with a fire helmet signed by country music stars Maddie and Tae, Craig Morgan, Jerrod Niemann, Thomas Rhett and Sam Hunt. The celebrities signed the helmet at the recent Guitar Pull, held at James Brown Arena. An additional fire helmet was signed by Justin Moore and Lee Brice while on the College Town Throwdown Tour.

"We are impressed with what the Burn Foundation does and how it helps families of patients in the Burn Center," said IAFF-3357 President, Charles Masters. "Anything we can do to help them is a privilege for us."
