Can you hear me now?

Ask and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock,

and the door will be opened for you.    ~Matthew 7.7

Greetings Friends!

So, how's your prayer life? Kind of a personal question, eh? I think it's easy for people to get intimidated by prayer. We come to prayer thinking that there is a certain way to pray, a right way to pray- and therefore wrong ways to pray as well. But consider this, what if praying isn't about doing something right, but just about doing? What if there is no right or wrong way to pray, but only praying... and not praying. And if this is the case, then maybe the only way to learn to pray is by trying it, by doing it! It's kind of like swimming- you can receive all kinds of instruction about swimming but sooner or later you just have to jump in.

This week at Hosanna 31 kids are learning about prayer at "Jailhouse Rock" Drama Camp! The musical opens as the children embark on a fun week of hiking and swimming at Camp Koinonia. When torrential rainfall leaves them "jailed up" in the mess hall- the Camp Director and Junior Counselors teach them about Paul, Silas and Peter's experience being "locked up," and how prayer and praise made a difference!

Performances at Hosanna in the Garden Chapel- Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm- and it's FREE- but let us know that you are coming so that we can have a place for you to sit- just click HERE  and reserve a spot! Come and support our kids while learning about our freedom in Christ and the POWER of prayer!

See you in Church- or at Jailhouse Rock!

Pastor Linda

P.S.
This drama camp is a new partnership between Childrens Performing Arts (CPA) and Hosanna with the intent of providing an avenue for children to have fun while expressing their God-given talents to the glory of our Lord.

THIS SUNDAY
  • Jailhouse Rock performance 2pm -
Garden Chapel (also a 7pm performance Saturday night, Aug.1)

  • Hosanna softball games at 6pm

LAST CALL

Bring it to Hosanna's rear parking lot (near the garage) no later than TODAY, July 29th. Hosanna will bring it to a recycler to raise funds to acquire a much needed hydraulic lift to be used at our facility.

It's that time of year again to check your calendar and sign up to help clean the Coliseum at the 2015 Minnesota State Fair. This project is Hosanna's largest annual fundraiser to support its ministries and programs. Every volunteer gets a free admission ticket to the fair for the day they sign up to help clean. (Enjoy the fair for a few hours; then just return to the Coliseum
by 9pm to start cleaning.)
We need teams of volunteers for every night of the Fair. This is a great service opportunity to get both kids & adults involved. Consider making this a family event.
Sign Ups are available after worship on Sunday mornings or you can contact the church office at 651-464-5502 or the project coordinators below:

Volunteer Opportunities

The Berry Patch on Manning Trail (just south of Hwy 97 and across the street from Big Marine Lake Store) would like to DONATE FRESH FRUIT to the Forest Lake Food Shelf and has asked Hosanna for about 5 or 6 volunteers each Monday to come to The Berry Patch to pick fruit for an hour or two in the morning (around 9 or 10 am).

If you can sp ar e a couple hours on a Monday mo rning between now and the 1st or 2nd week of August, please contact the church office at 651-464-5502 to sign up. (And you can enjoy munching on as many berries as you want while you're picking!.......mmmmm)  IN THE EVENT OF RAIN, picking will be canceled.

Senior Adult Ministry (SAM)

Hosanna's Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) is a monthly gathering of mature folks who enjoy socializing with fun, interesting people and sharing a meal together.  We typically meet on the first Thursday of the month (unless it falls on a holiday, then we meet a week later) for lunch.  We alternate the location - one month at an area restaurant and the following month at church.  Our primary goal is to enjoy each other's company, laugh and establish enduring friendships
