FAFSA Now Live: Apply for Financial Aid
If you are the parent of a current high school senior or college student, the time is now to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for financial aid for the 2016-17 college year.


W2 Reminder
Payroll is currently in the process of preparing 2015 W2 Wage and Tax Statements. The W2 is an annual form that reports taxable income and other tax-related information required by federal and state agencies. To ensure that your W2 is mailed to the correct address, please check your personal information in the iPortal and make changes as needed.  
 

New Sick Time Law
Effective Jan. 1, 2016, employers in the state of Oregon are required to implement sick time policies and provide sick time to employees not already covered. Needs Assessment
As we kick off 2016, we will begin developing a new strategic plan and determining our next steps for supporting schools in the Office for School Performance. One way we intend to plan for this work is by completing a comprehensive needs assessment, a component of which will be an optional survey that will be sent to you directly in the next two weeks. Celebrating the Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., Through Service
Millions of Americans will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Monday, Jan. 18, by engaging in conversations about civic participation or volunteering for community service projects. Learn more by visiting the Points of Light website or get ideas specific to kids by visiting the Generation On website.  
 

Weight Watchers Meeting at Tobias
A Weight Watchers open house will be held in the Tobias Elementary School library on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. All OEBB employees and family members are welcome to attend. Contact Theresa Kinnan for more information.


National Youth Science Camp  

The National Youth Science Camp is a residential science education program for young scientists the summer after they graduate from high school. Students from around the country are challenged academically in exciting lectures and hands-on studies, and have voluntary opportunities to participate in an outdoor adventure program. Those accepted to the program will have all expenses covered. Application deadline is Feb. 17.
