A Message from Premier's Chief Executive
Hello and welcome to our first edition of 'Premier News,'
our quarterly newsletter focusing on health center happenings, program spotlights, community activities and upcoming events that touch the lives of residents throughout Pasco County.
As CEO for over a year, I've seen first-hand the impact Premier has made - delivering health care to nearly 21,000 patients during the past 12 months. While proud our care team has touched so many lives, there's still much more to be done. I believe Premier is a hidden gem in Pasco County and we need your help to spread the word about our valuable health care services and help us build awareness. We're also focused on being proactive and prepared to address some of the 'access to health care' needs our community has identified.
Premier continues to develop strong community partnerships and leverage resources to expand our breadth of services by adding new locations. Earlier this year, Premier opened its Lacoochee Family Health Center housed at the Lacoochee Community Center along with the Lewis Abraham Boys & Girls Club and Pasco County Sheriff's Officer Friendly. Most recently on August 31st, Premier launched health care services at its new Hudson Family Health Center. This new health center is co-located with the Department of Health Pasco County inside the Mike Fasano Hurricane Shelter at 11611 Denton Avenue, Hudson, FL.

November is American Diabetes Month
- Nearly 30 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes.

Our Many Faces
Premier's Dental Director Gives Back to our Community & Country
Throughout the past few months, Dental Director Dr. Peralta has been volunteering at various local elementary schools, providing free dental screenings to Pasco County elementary school children. Since joining our team in January of this year, Dr. Peralta's commitment to our community is admirable as he has a passion for educating children about oral hygiene and ensuring all kids, no matter their circumstance, have a bright smile! While working as Dental Director, Dr. Peralta also proudly serves as a Major in the Army Reserve Dental Corps and recently returned from deployment in the Middle East.
Dr. Peralta is married with two adult children. He is a triathlete, golf enthusiast and most recently served as the team dentist for various high school sports in central Florida.
As the Dental Director at Premier, Dr. Peralta is working to improve access to oral health care and strengthen partnerships throughout the community to ensure those that need oral health care the most, receive quality and affordable dental care. Premier's Dental Center has a team of four general dentists and two registered dental hygienist. The Dental Center is located downtown Dade City and accepts new patients for preventative and restorative services. Same-day emergency appointments are also available. Medicine is Expensive!
Are you uninsured? Did you know you can access Free Prescription Medication?
Since its inception, Premier has offered prescription medication assistance for uninsured patients. Through a partnership with Suncoast Health Council's MedNet© program, Premier coordinates the application process (for a small fee) to enable uninsured patients to receive free prescription medication through pharmaceutical manufacturers. The program is specifically designed to help uninsured and medically needy patients with free medications to better manage their chronic health conditions. The program works with more than ninety pharmaceutical companies offering prescription coverage for over 1,000 medicines. So far this year, $1.5 million in prescription medication has been distributed to uninsured patients. Premier sees firsthand how much this program is valued by patients and is much needed in our community.
