Specifying Engineer Advisory Council

HPS is committed to developing tools for our representatives to better align themselves with specifiers and end users. The Specifying Engineer Advisory Council was formed to develop and review our efforts and increase HPS's exposure to the specifying engineer community. We meet a few times a year via webinar to review our progress and generate new ideas and goals to improve our efforts. This past month, the council members were instrumental in reviewing four new presentations targeting energy efficiency applications that we will be releasing in August. I would like to recognize the individuals who currently comprise our council:

  • Chris Vigliarolo - SDM Metro
  • Chuck Currie - Bill Casey Sales
  • John Walter - Lakeshore Electrical
  • Patrick Patsey - Riffle & Associates
  • Robert Grega - JMA

We are still seeking additional council members. If you are interested in joining, please contact Mike VanGheem. We will begin to develop audio versions of our specifying engineer presentations this quarter.

Alberta Flooding
The devastating flood that took over most of southern and central Alberta this past June is a reminder to us all that no matter where or when disaster strikes, people's generosity and gracious support will always follow.

To show our support for those in Alberta, HPS offered special terms to our partners in Southern Alberta.  These terms included freight-allowed on all shipments of standard potted and distribution transformers and priority handling on all non-standard/special potted and distribution transformers.

HPS' products were used at the Calgary Stampede, Calgary City Hall and throughout residential and commercial areas as well.

We continue to keep those affected in Alberta in our thoughts.

HPS Launches into Social Media
HPS has begun making its way into the budding realm of social media, with fully active and up-to-date accounts on the most popular platforms: Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Although HPS' arrival to social media is fairly new, we are confident this new development will bring a certain ease and convenience to our employees, affiliates and most importantly - our customers.

Our social media pages will deliver the latest HPS and industry news, press releases, new and featured products, videos, technical answers, troubleshooting tips and much, much more.

Follow and like our pages to make sure you don't miss out on the action!

E-Quotes V2 Coming Soon

HPS will be launching a new E-Quotes V2.0 quotation system in September.  HPS has been hard at work beta testing the system to provide as smooth of a transition as possible from our current "Classic" system.  V2.0 will provide users with additional accessory options, more complete product descriptions and submittal infomation, better guidance through tool tips and an improved look and feel.  Mike Van Gheem will coordinate training with HPS Representatives in the weeks before and after implementation.

Distribution Sales Team Going Strong

The U.S. HPS Distribution Sales Team kicked off the third quarter on the right foot, posting an 18% July bookings increase over 2012, a YTD Shipping increase of nearly 7% and continued strong pursuit of our $74.1M fiscal year Distribution Sales goal after a soft second quarter. The acceleration that we have seen in July is expected to continue through the rest of the second half driven by Key Distributor conversion activity, greater activity within the Oil & Gas vertical, outstanding project quotation hit rates and most importantly, the commitment, dedication and professionalism of the Reps, Regional management and inside support staff that make up our team.

U.S. Representative Council
Every two years, the U.S. Sales Management Team hosts a meeting of a select cross-section of its independent sales representatives. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss a wide range of pre-selected topics that have been monitored and measured, and are open to discussion from our representatives standpoint of our strategic process in the NAED channel.  read more
