Marcia Jordan Owner, Publisher |
Historically, some married in the month of June to honor Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage. In MGM's 1954 Academy Award-winning musical, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers the song "June Bride" trills: "Oh, they say when you marry in June, you're a bride all your life."
A June wedding has been the theme for many movies over the years as well. And event today, the month of June has remained the most popular month to wed.
For those of you marrying in June, we have collected a few things to consider along the way!
Cheers & Happy Planning (and reading!)
Fondly,
Marcia

Keep it Cool in June with Ice!
Nothing expresses an elegant, yet personalized event in quite the same fashion as an artistically carved ice display. Once use to cradle delicate catering items such as seafood, it goes with out saying that today's ice sculptures and designs go far beyond what they use to be! Over the last decade this medium has transitioned from a catering display item to a whole new genre; wedding decor! We are lucky to have an extremely talented ice carving design
company here in Hampton Roads. Ice Art's talented designers have gone
as far as to create an entire wedding scheme entirely around ice!
The impact of ice as a decor element is impressive during the day, but lit in the evening as well. Today's couples are using ice as the basis for their bar, beaded backdrop curtains, and even lounge furniture. Check out all they have to offer at www.iceartva.com

June Weddings + Tents = L.O.V.E.
A great investment of your wedding decor dollar can be spent on securing a tent for your event. Often considered to protect your guests in the event of rain, protecting your guests from the hot sun is also a benefit. Tents can create a much welcomed reprieve at your outdoor wedding, in particular on a hot June day! A tent and the lighting effects created with chandeliers and uplighting can make a huge impact on the over all look of your joyous affair.
