CSI Is Granted Continuing Accreditation by the NAPBS

Creative Services, Inc. is proud to announce that it has been granted continuing accreditation by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS). This was determined based on the successful completion of the Interim Surveillance Audit and a review of those findings by the Background Screening Credentialing Council.

The NAPBS offers an accreditation program for Consumer Reporting Agencies (CRAs) located in the United States of America. Governed by a strict and thorough set of professional standards, the Background Screening Agency Accreditation Program (BSAAP) has become a widely recognized seal of approval that brings national recognition to an employment background screening-affiliated organization for its commitment to excellence, accountability, high professional standards and continued institutional improvement. For more information about the accreditation process, please visit http://www.napbs.com/accreditation.
Russia Update: Regulator Publishes Data Localization Clarifications
On August 3, 2015 the Russian Ministry of Communications, the agency that oversees the Russian data protection authority which will be enforcing Russia's Data Localization Law, published unofficial clarifications on its website that provide a view into how the Ministry believes organizations must comply with the law. While these clarifications are non-binding, they constitute the only written regulatory guidance that has been published to date about the law, which took effect on September 1 st and requires organizations that collect personal data from individuals located in Russia to store that data within Russian territory.  The Ministry's website also provides a mechanism to ask further questions online.

By The New York Times

According to a report by The New York Times on August 19, 2015, background checks used by ride-sharing company Uber failed to uncover the criminal records of 25 drivers in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The charges were made in a 62-page amended complaint to a civil suit, originally filed in December, that claims Uber has continually misled consumers about the methods it uses to screen drivers. For more than a year, regulators in various cities have questioned whether Uber vets its drivers for criminal backgrounds as carefully as traditional taxi companies.
