Care packages for military
Love your neighbor as yourself

Supporting Our Troops!
Packages4Patriots, a ministry of Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Elk Grove Village, IL, has been shipping care packages to military members serving overseas. Over the years, they have shipped over 3,000 boxes! Last weekend, during a "Dad and Daughter" event, they packed and shipped another 29 boxes!

Helping Our Neighbors
Members of  Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Medina, OH, expressed the triennium theme, "Love your neighbor as yourself," by helping victims of an apartment fire. They collected a free-will offering on Sunday, March 13, 2016.  An estimated 24 families have been displaced by this tragedy.

School Round-up

Finished Projects

Mom and Son Fun
Yo ho ho! Buccaneers from Family of Christ in Phoenix, AZ, searched for gold doubloon and made fond memories at the annual Mother/Son Treasure Hunt!

Decisions, Decisions
It was a day of making choices for young students at Concordia Lutheran Church and Little Lambs in Berwyn, IL. Learning the voting process, the students had to choose their favorite snack: pretzels or Goldfish crackers. Pretzels won 11-6, surprising the pollster!
Technologically Challenged
Pastor Robert F. Weldon, Sr., of Grace Lutheran Church in Elryia, OH, came up with a way to use technology and challenge his congregation during Lent. Knowing most everyone now has a cell phone and sends text messages, he asked parishioners to identify two people that are not affiliated with a church and don't attend worship. Then he asked them to text these people at the beginning of the week with these messages: Week 1) I'm praying for you. Week 2) I'm praying for you. Week 3) God loves you, and I am praying for you. Week 4) Is there anything specific you want me to pray for? Pastor Weldon is hoping this small gesture plants a seed. We hope to have an update to share with you in a week or so. What a wonderful way to use technology to share the love of Christ!
