Midsummer 2015
Summer is upon us! Some of us have already taken a vacation or two. The rest of us are eagerly anticipating a future get-away. And, others are enjoying a summer Staycation, with many great local places to visit and activities in which to participate.
How Do I Keep My Pets Safe on July 4th?
Make sure your pets are wearing up-to-date ID tags.
Take a current photo of your pet, just in case.
Exercise your dog early in the day, before festivities begin.
During cookouts, ask your guests to play with your dog away from flames/grills.
Keep charcoal, fireworks, glowsticks and sparklers far away from curious dogs and cats.
Keep dog treats on hand for those who want to give your dog food.
Leave your dog at home with a frozen stuffed kong, during the fireworks (recipes, here).
If your dog is afraid of loud noises, leave gentle music playing to cover the fireworks.
