I'm Alive Because He Lives
The trees are full of new buds, bulbs are pushing up their new life and the clematis vines are stretching out to go ever higher with each spring day. This time of year is so amazing as God sends out his new life everywhere you look. You have to ask yourself, "What do you believe?"
Do you believe in the Son?
Do you believe in the Risen One?
Do you believe that you overcome.... by the power of His blood?
These are the words of a new song called Because He Lives that challenges us to take a stand and decide what we truly believe in. The chorus triumphantly states, "Amen, Amen, I'm alive, I'm alive because He lives."
We are not here on this earth for me, for my pursuits or for my personal gains. We are here on this earth and only live because of Jesus. We are only alive because He lives and was risen from the dead. If Jesus hadn't risen then we would not be alive but having lives that were dead in our sins with no purpose for our existence! This is why we live! We live to share the transforming life of Jesus to all we know. We live to intentionally share this life to others.
So.... what is Easter all about? It's about life! It's about receiving new life from Jesus. It's about knowing why you are here on this earth!
Next week Ekklesia will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with a special gathering filled with song, a special presentation by our kids and lots of food. We'll have a potluck along with a time of worship. So, come prepared for a day of Celebrating Life!
