See a Doctor Online or by Phone
We are pleased to announce that HMAA members are now able to see a doctor online or by phone for most healthcare services within 30 minutes, or schedule an appointment for a later date and time, through our partnership with  HiDoc   (hosted by CareClix)!

HiDoc provides members with access to a local and national network of physicians and specialists via online video and telephonic consultations. Specialty care and second opinions are available through tele-specialty resources including Hawaii-based specialists and specialists who practice with Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Cleveland Clinic, and many other world-class clinics.

Accessing a physician through HiDoc makes seeing a doctor quick, easy, and virtually painless. Members do not have to waste time in a waiting room, transportation is no longer a barrier to receiving quality care, and the emergency room no longer needs to be a first line of defense when your primary care doctor is unavailable. Consultations can b e scheduled using a home computer or mobile device.

Virtual and telephonic exams are comprehensive and  range from family medicine to specialty consultations. Some conditions commonly treated through telemedicine exams include:
  • Allergies
  • Cough/Flu
  • Diarrhea
  • Ear Infection
  • Eye Issues
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Prescription Refills*
  • Skin Issues/Rashes
  • Sore Throat
  • Traveling Illness
  • Urinary Tract Infection
  • Vomiting








* Refill services should be used in urgent situations when a member's primary care physician is unavailable.

To get started or to learn more, members may visit hmaa.com/telemedicine. Members may also download the CareClix mobile app for access to video consultations from their mobile device.


About HiDoc

HiDoc is an on-demand, full-service, telemedicine platform and virtual exam room. HMAA members can see a HiDoc physician for any non-emergent medical issue, routine medical care during normal or off-business hours, and while traveling. HiDoc is intended to work in tandem with a member's primary care physician and not as a replacement.

Consultations are confidential and secure. All physicians are considered in-network when seen through the HiDoc platform, and a telemedicine visit has no out-of-pocket costs. In most cases, members can be seen within 30 minutes of a request. Specialty consults will be scheduled within 48 hours of request.

Changes to Contact Information
As a friendly reminder, please keep HMAA updated with changes to your company and member contact information. This includes mailing addresses (especially suite and unit numbers), phone numbers, and email addresses. If we do not have your current information on file, there may be a delay in providing you and your plan members with updates, and other important information.

Members may view their address on record by logging into their Online for Members account at https://hmaaonline.com

If any information needs to be updated, please complete and submit the
Information Change Form available in the Forms & Information section for employers or members at hmaa.com.
