Bowling pins falling down from a strike in ten-pin bowling.
Wisconsin HSBC State Championships
By Sandra Jeske, Program Administrator

Sure Dale's Weston Lanes in Weston offers golf leagues, volleyball leagues, horseshoe leagues, concerts and the many activities that bowling centers do. However, March 4 - 6 Dale's Weston Lanes was the host of the 2016 Wisconsin High School Bowling Club State Championships. As a newcomer to this industry, I was impressed by the professionalism of the Weston staff, the volunteerism that seems to run rabid at the tournament, and the tournament finesse of BCAW High School Bowling Club Committee consisting of Hank Posnanski, Jr., Jason Resch, Pete Riopelle, Dick Zierke and Bob Maki.

Then there is the electronic charge in the air that affects all of your senses. Not only do you see it with the feather trimmed, glittered and neon decorated spectator signs of all sizes; you hear it with the enthusiastic clapping and school team chants shouted, the taste of anticipation, and yes, the sweet smell of victory and for some - the agony of defeat. This is the charged atmosphere that continued throughout the weekend.  Click here for the results >>

Erik Gialdella Selected as One of the
'Top 40 Under 40'

BCAW learned recently that our own Erik Gialdella, proprietor of Revs Bowl Bar & Grill in Oshkosh has been selected as one of BPAA's "Top 40 Under 40" in the bowling industry. He was nominated by the BCAW.

From our submission letter:
"Erik is a contributing member of the wave of new bowling center owners, making a difference here in Wisconsin. Through his personal commitment and drive, our state association is headed in the right direction for the future of bowling. He has been involved as a volunteer for many years and is currently serving as the BCAW Vice President. At a mere 37 years of age, many would say Erik is experienced beyond his chronological age."

Congratulations Erik! We are very proud of you and all of your contributions to BCAW and the bowling industry!

The Stars were Shining Bright with the All Star Team Challenge
Revs Bowl Bar & Grill in Oshkosh was an All Star host to the 2016 Wisconsin High School Bowling All Star Team Challenge on March 12. Twenty-two teams (10 girls and 12 boys), representing 12 districts, competed in team competition.  Additionally, the 110 athletes also participated in a singles event.  Scholarships were awarded to the top team and first three singles finishers, in the boys and girls divisions.

Thank you 900 Global for sponsoring and donating five bowling balls to the HSBC raffle and for having Andrew Cain, pro and former USBC President, talk to the audience on his experience. Click here for final results >>
