| Drop-In Classes for Ages 13+ |
Mikautadze Dance Theatre's artistic director, Elizabeth Mikautadze, is offering modern and ballet classes on Tuesday nights for ages 13 through adult after completing a successful summer intensive with the Community Arts Academy. Classes continue through May 31 in IPFW's Williams Theatre, room 113. For information, log on to

 Ultimate Shakespeare-ience (Grades 6-12) Saturday, Mar 26 Approximately 50% of the world's school children study Shakespeare. Learn to do it the fun way by putting it on the stage, where it is meant to be! Students will discover Shakespeare by using active approaches that unlock the text and enhance the story.This class is for those who love Shakespeare and those want to.
- Introduction to Puppetry (Grades 6-12) Saturday, Apr 30 Students taking this workshop will learn the basics of building and performing with a Bunraku-style paper puppet. Bunraku is a Japanese style of puppetry that uses three puppeteers to manipulate a single, large puppet. Class time will be spent building the puppets followed by learning how to create the effect of bringing them to life.

At the IPFW Community Arts Academy, we have partnered with new arts groups to bring you the following summer programs. Click on each name for more details.

 Woodwind Summer Music Week (June 6-10) is a day camp for beginning to advanced woodwind students ages 12 to 18. Offering instruction in flute and oboe, this program includes chamber music and introductory music theory classes.

 IPFW Gene Marcus Piano Camp & Festival (June 12-17) aims to inspire young pianists (ages 12-18) to strive for artistic excellence and encourage them to reach their potential in piano study and performance. Students are immersed in all things piano, from a variety of workshops and group sessions to daily lessons, all to help them progress rapidly and continue to be excited about making music throughout the year.

 Summer String Camp (June 20-24) features string orchestra, chamber ensembles and group classes for violin, viola, cello, bass, and guitar. Students must have a minimum of two years of string instruction to take part. Learn new music from Fort Wayne Philharmonic musicians in a week of string orchestra, group classes, and chamber music playing.

 Appleseed Writing Project (June 20-July 1) is offering its 13th annual two-week summer creative writing camp for elementary and middle school students. Writing will include poetry, story writing and narrative, with engaging and collaborative activities. Emphasis on the writing process will include choosing topics, sustained writing time, revising, editing, publishing, and sharing with peers in a supportive environment under the tutelage of experienced writing teachers.

 Children's Choir Camp (June 27-July 1) offers a chance to join in the fun and learn more about the art of singing. Under the direction of an experienced music educator from the Fort Wayne Children's Choir, singers will be introduced to basic music theory through musical games, instruction, and, of course, singing. The week culminates in a short program for parents and family members. This camp is for students entering 2nd-4th grade in the fall of 2016.

 Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (June-August) CAA is co-sponsoring one of the choirs that will perform during the run of the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre's production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" this summer. Auditions are required for this choir made up of students ages 10-12 entering grades 4-6 in fall 2016. Rehearsals take place on the IPFW campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July.
