TMA NOW Member Accomplishments
Milly Chow, partner at Blakes, Cassels & Graydon, recently spoke on a panel at a TMA Toronto Chapter event. The session was "Mastering Asset Purchase Agreements in Distress M&A Deals."
Julie Haghiri recently joined Duff & Phelps's new restructuring team as senior associate in Toronto.
D.J. Miller, partner at Thornton Grout Finnegan, was recently named "Insolvency Litigator of the Year (2016)" by Benchmark Canada.
Lunelle Siegel, senior vice president at BBVA Compass Commercial Billing Services, will be speaking at the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants "CPAs in Industry" Conference. Lunelle will be giving an update to practicing CPAs on the financial markets in her lecture entitled "Alternatives to Bank Financing: Analyzing the Options." CPAs will learn about crowd-funding, venture capital, private equity, off balance sheet funding, hard asset funding, and much more.
Carli Venter, Business Recovery Services, PwC, recently celebrated the first anniversary of her career in the turnaround industry. After becoming a lawyer, she entered the financial world of commercial banking where she gained corporate finance, credit, and lending experience. Whilst her legal training exposed her to a broad array of commercial and contractual matters, her work as a banker involved structuring, organizing, and managing high-level lending transactions. Her background has therefore created an undeniable law-finance balance, a platform which ultimately steered her into business recoveries at PwC during May 2015. Since joining the firm she has been involved in many noteworthy transactions, including the Curatorship of African Bank Limited and a number of high profile business rescues.
Lisa Stensgard, of CBIZ Valuation Group LLC, is currently serving as the 2016 TMA Dallas/Ft. Worth chapter president. She was brought into the chapter in 2013 by a mentor in the industry who influenced her to join and get involved. Lisa immediately began serving on the Membership Committee and soon thereafter rose to the ranks of University Relations Chair, Network of Women Chair, and Membership Chair. In her current role, and with the support of residing board members, Lisa made the decision to empower some of the women that have been great contributors to the organization. Lisa is proud to report that the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter has six women serving on the Board of Directors, NextGen, Network of Women, Programs, and University Relations Committees.

- The Closing Lunch Keynote is nationally recognized Nashville businesswoman Sherry Stewart Dutschmann of LetterLogic. A domestic abuse survivor and single mom, Ms. Dutschmann aspired to become a country singer but switched directions to start a healthcare patient billing company in her basement.
