Trenton, NJ - Crossroads of the American Revolution Association today announced the election of five new members to its board of trustees at the association's annual meeting. Crossroads is the non-profit organization responsible for the management of the Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area, which connects the people and places of New Jersey's rich Revolutionary heritage to inspire community pride, stewardship and civic engagement.

"Each of these dynamic New Jerseyans is committed to bring their energy and expertise to Crossroads, and we're fortunate to have them," said Patrick Murray, president of the Crossroads board of trustees. "While their professional backgrounds and achievements are diverse, they share a common investment in our communities and a commitment to developing and promoting heritage tourism as a driver in the state's economy."

New board members include:

• William J. Castner, Jr. of Mount Laurel. Chair of Government Affairs at Gibbons, P.C., he was named one of the 40 Leaders of the Bar by the New Jersey Law Journal. His extensive public sector experience includes tenure as Chief Counsel to the Governor of New Jersey and General Counsel/Executive Director of the New Jersey General Assembly Majority Office.
• Dale Florio of Hoboken. Managing Partner of Princeton Public Affairs Group, he is often cited as one of the most influential people in New Jersey politics and provides public policy analysis in the media. He has served as key advisor to two governors and served as a county political leader and a local elected official.
• Ira Jersey of Berkeley Heights. Head of U.S. Interest Rate Strategy at Credit Suisse, he is lead analyst on U.S. fixed income asset classes. An avocational historian, he is also a George Washington Fellow of the Sons of the American Revolution and a longstanding member of several organizations focused on the early history of the nation.
• Sally Lane of Trenton. Director of Special Projects, Office of the President, Thomas Edison State College, she was Board Secretary of the Crossroads Association in its early years. Her extensive background in heritage tourism and historic preservation includes leadership positions at the Trenton Convention & Visitors Bureau and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
• Milly Silva of Montclair. Executive Vice President of 1199 United Healthcare Workers East, SEIU, and its 400,000 members. Her advocacy for social justice and workers' rights includes leadership of nearly 8000 nursing home care workers and home health aides in the state.  She also ran for Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey in 2013.
