This year, Rabbi Bruce Kadden of Temple Beth El will lead us through the various stages of the meal and speak to us about the significance of the Seder in the past, the present, and the future. Please indicate your desire to come by adding your name(s) to the sign-up sheet in the Narthex or by calling the church office during the week.

We Welcome Your Plans for Giving!

Thank you to everyone who has submitted a Plan for Giving during worship, in the mail, or online at the "Giving" tab on our church website!  So far, we have heard from more than sixty households, so we're off to a good start. It is very important, however, that we hear from all of you who share the common call to mission with us at St. Mark's. We are all in this together, and we want to hear from every household by early April. You can bring your Plan for Giving to church this  Sunday, March 20 and place it the special basket during the offering, or you can click this link and complete your Plan for Giving online.
You can also mail it to us, if you like. Our Church Council depends on each of us to participate in this spiritual practice as they make the plans for mission that will be presented at the congregational meeting in May. If you misplaced the Plan for Giving card that was sent to you in the mail, you will find extra cards in the pew racks in the sanctuary and at the Welcome Center in the narthex

Host A Seder Table

Seder is a wonderful part of the Holy Week, a way to meet other people in the congregation as well as learn about the history and tradition of the meal. Plus it is a great way to host a dinner without cooking or cleaning the house!

Hosting a table means that you set a table for 8 in our fellowship hall. Items you would bring from home include table cloth, centerpiece, candle, and 8 place settings with plate, water glass, wine glass, coffee/tea cup, knife, spoon, fork, and napkin.  There is a helpful checklist and tip sheet, available in the narthex at the demo table.

Our goal is to have 22 tables at the Seder meal this year.

When: March 24th  Event starts at  5:30pm  - Tables should be set up by  4pm at the  latest.

Setup times:  Wed , March 23  from  12-4:30pm or   6-8pm , or  Thurs, March 24  from 10am-4pm.

Mexico Mission Trip:

St. Mark's annual mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico will take place this year from June 17-25.  If you are interested in being part of this mission team,  please return a completed interest form as soon as possible, but no later than March 15th;  there is much interest in the trip this year and space is limited.  Forms are available in the church office or on the church website ( www.smlutheran.org).  Questions? Contact Melanie Summerour ( [email protected]) or Sarah Moore (253-752-0554).  The first team meeting will be held on Sunday, March 20th immediately following the third service, (12:00-1:00), in the Fireside Room.

Connect and Care TimeBank

Recent Exchanges, Members helping each other:
There has been  busy activity recently for TimeBank members. Several people have volunteered in the Special Time Fund and have joined together to assist in weeding and garden cleanup. Working together,  they not only provided much needed help, but also formed new friendship bonds. In another instance, two members who had attended the CCTB Focus Group found out about some mutual needs. As a result,  an attic got cleaned out, reorganized and old items were discarded and recycled.  Here again, a new friendship has also been formed.

New Members:
It was great to welcome six new members to the TimeBank in March. Soon they will be posting their offers and requests, adding to the richness of activity within the TimeBank.

Training Dates
There are two more opportunities to take part in training;  Wednesday, April 6 at 6:00  and  Saturday, May 14 at 10:00 .
Membership fee will remain at $10 per year through May.
Sign up now.  Sign up sheets are in Narthex or contact Patty Reinkensmeyer,  253 857-7977 [email protected] .
