Giving to SEF

In this holiday season, we extend our deepest thanks to
all  of our donors who have made SEF's grants to the Summit schools possible. With the support of so many in our community, SEF is able to make a real difference in our schools. Thank you for your generosity! If you haven't yet donated in 2015, click here to do so online.

If you are thinking about a year-end donation to SEF, you may wish to consider a gift of  appreciated securities .

For stock held longer than one year, full fair market value can be deducted, regardless of the original purchase price for the shares. Stock donors also avoid paying capital gains taxes on donated securities (consult your tax advisor for further details). For instructions on how to make a gift of appreciated stock, please contact the
SEF Treasurer,
Beth Sharpe, at  [email protected] .

Every SEF grant proposal goes through a rigorous 6-point review process, including reviews by the building Principal or Department Supervisor, the Superintendent, followed by two rounds of analysis by the SEF grants committee, and then a vote by the SEF board of trustees and the Summit Board of Education.  Many thanks to the teachers and staff who submitted proposals and the dozens of SEF volunteers involved in the grants review  process.
