Alissa Vander Veen is a Colorado native who recently relocated to Arizona with her husband and two small boys. Prior to living in Arizona, Alissa was the Chief Deputy and Communication Manager for the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's Office. At the time Alissa was the youngest Chief Deputy in El Paso County history with responsibilities including: management of all county elections, managing a staff of 200 and a budget of $20 million dollars annually. Alissa was the first Public Information Officer for the County Clerk's office and was responsible for developing media relations, developing the Clerk's Office social media infrastructure and facilitating training for the public, media and staff.

       Additionally, Alissa has eight years of election management experience managing over 6 major elections, including two Presidential Elections. In 2008, Alissa received her Certified Election/Registration Administrator certification from the Election Center which is the highest level of certification available in the area of election management. Alissa has a strong historical background in elections and communication. She is often a highly sought after voice when it comes to election procedures and testified before the Colorado State House and Senate on election legislation.
