Drawing for Absolute Beginners

Have you ever wanted to draw? Drawing for Absolute Beginners can provide the foundation tools and understanding necessary to draw successfully. Each class will build on the previous class through simple, effective drawing exercises, in-class drawing projects and exercises for your own home study.

The Art of Sewing: Sewing Classes for Beginners

Come to our six week series of classes to learn the basics of the machine, including threading the bobbin, choosing seams, and adjusting tension. Once you feel comfortable with the machine, you will learn how to make a small drawstring bag and other things. Leave the class confident in using your machine and with something to show for your hard work!

Conversation with artist Nike Desis

Join us for an opening of an exhibit by local artist Nike Desis.
The artist will be present to talk about the inspiration and context of the work.
Ms. Desis is a co-founder of FLUXspace in Philadelphia, an artist-run non-profit dedicated to exploring relevant cultural phenomena that is under-examined. Multiple catalogs from FLUXspace and a coloring book by Nike Desis,
Color Me Fierce, published by Quirk Books, are included in the exhibit.
Ms. Desis received a B.A. in Studio Art from Kenyon College in Gambier, OH, was a member of the New Orleans Community Printshop and Darkroom and recently completed a residency at Grin City in Grinnell, IA.
