Hosanna E-Update

March 15, 2016
We are called, gathered and sent to be a people living, loving
and serving as Jesus did so that all may know Him.
From Pastor Linda

Jesus went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem...
~from Luke 19

Dear Friends~
This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week.   On Palm Sunday we will enter Jesus' life beginning at his triumphal entry into Jerusalem on a donkey to his death outside the city on a cross (From Luke 19, 22-23). Our  shouts will begin with HOSANNA! and end with CRUCIFY HIM!  As we walk with Jesus, it is also a time for us to consider our  own journey of faith and how we fit into the  story. We will hear from 4 present-day people who characterize those that were there: Judas, the Servant Girl, Barabbas and Joseph of Arimathea. The question will be asked:   Where do you fit in the story?

Consider inviting a friend to journey with you:
  • Palm Sunday, March 20, at 9:00am and 10:30am in the Great Hall: Join the journey from Palms to Passion as we enter the story through Word and Sacrament and Music featuring Children's Choir, Hosanna Choir, the Handbell Choir, and led by the Worship Team.
  • Last Supper Reenactment, March 22, 23, 24 , at 7:30pm in the Garden Chapel: The story comes alive.
  • Good Friday Worship, March 25, at 7:00 pm in the Garden Chapel: A service of darkness.
  • Easter Sunday Worship, March 27 at 9am and 10:30am in the Great Hall: A Celebration of Resurrection!
  • Easter Sunday Breakfast, March 27 served 8:00am-11:00am.

See you in church~  Pastor Linda

The rituals and blessings of the Passover feast celebrating the Israelites' exodus from Egyptian slavery had been fixed for generations. Tonight would be different. Jesus added new language about love, betrayal, forgiveness and remembrance...
