The Douglas County School District (DCSD) works to personalize learning for each and every child, including those that need the highest levels of support.   Read more

Through the vigilance and action of staff, students and parents, potential threats can be identified and disrupted early.

This 12 to 20 week program not only helps students learn basic literacy skills, but also builds a strong learning foundation that will serve them their entire life.   Read more
The gifted elementary students in Douglas County School District's Discovery Program are empowered to explore further and dig deeper than they would be able to in typical classrooms.  Read more

Within the walls of Prairie Crossing Elementary School, there are two very different intensive center-based personalized learning programs, both of which are dedicated to serving and providing interventions for students on the autism spectrum as early as possible.   Read more

DCSD IN THE NEWS
This week, eight of Douglas County's nine high schools will send their teams to the National High School Cheer Championships in Orlando, Florida. 
Dance students at Douglas County High School spent a week learning Australian aboriginal dance - including the reason that participants don't wear socks.
Colorado's school superintendents say the way the state's schools are funded needs to change to put more money into classrooms.


Thomas Green and Logan Eatherton are among the Parker area students heading to the state DECA competition in Colorado Springs this February.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK
 Annually, Douglas County High School students work with Make-A-Wish Colorado to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. This year they raised $25,000 to fulfill the wish of twelve-year-old Jacob, who is from Castle Rock and is battling Astrocytoma. Jacob's wish is to go to Hawaii to see where Jurassic Park was filmed. Sage Canyon Elementary, Rock Ridge Elementary, and Mesa Middle School helped in fundraising efforts and also made paper cranes and other items for Jacob.
