Windows 10 Has Arrived But Should You Upgrade?

The first of the reserved upgrades started rolling out yesterday and we are getting many questions about whether or not we recommend the upgrade.

For users of Windows 8, it should be a no-brainer; Windows 10 brings together the best of Windows 7 and takes away the lesser-liked  features of Windows 8. For users of Windows 7,  we are encouraging you to read some of the articles below and decide for yourself i f you want to make the jump to Windows 10.

As with any new releases, we always recommend to wait a month or so before you take the plunge. Although we believe Windows 8 users should definitely upgrade, we recommend that you wait until September to let current Windows 10 users work out all the kinks!

A word of caution, if your experiencing pop ups, slowness or have not had your computer recently cleaned, you SHOULD have your system clean up  to prevent unwanted issues during the upgrade. Take advantage of our current specials and have your system cleaned and upgrade all at once!

Give the following articles a read, and decide if you are ready for the upgrade.  Give your friendly geeks at Click-A-Geek a call if you want to schedule an appointment to make sure things go smoothly.

UPS Power Backup

Sudden loss of power and power surges are  two of the principle causes of damage to computers and other sensitive electronics. Even cheap power strips will do a decent enough job protecting against the power surges, but they offer no protection against drops in line voltage, brownouts, blackouts, and other power supply issues.

We suggest purchasing an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to protect your computer and other electronics from the surges we often experience in Vernon. A UPS provides you with a battery backup in the event of blackouts, giving you time to safely power down your system and keep your data safe.
