Slogan Contest Closes Sunday

Balloon Fiesta is looking for a few good men.... um, rather ... slogans. Because we know you bring good things to life... well, you get the point.

We're inviting Balloon Fiesta Navigators to help us come up with 10 original slogans that we can use on our shirts and other Balloon Fiesta merchandise. And we want you to contribute!

If we pick your slogan to adorn our merchandise, you'll get a great Balloon Fiesta prize.

Submit your slogan idea in the following field. Submit as many slogans as you'd like. However, if more than one of your slogans are chosen, you will only receive 2 prizes.

You know what comes next...

FAST FACTS:
Why is Smoking Prohibited on the Field?

Propane is used to fuel the burners for hot air balloons. Because it is denser than air, if a leak in a propane fuel system occurs, the gas will have a tendency to sink into lower lying areas and may not dissipate. Thus it poses a serious risk of explosion and fire.

If you see someone on the field with a cigarette, politely ask them to put it out. If they do not comply, contact the nearest Public Safety officer.

Project Heart Start Day!

June 20th, 8:00-9:00 am

UNM Johnson Field and Center

Show your AIBF support AND learn to save a life! Participate in Project Heart Start Day to learn compression-only CPR. We are inviting all Navigators to come out attend this session en masse. Wear your 2014 volunteer shirt for the group photo.

The Project Heart Start training session will last about 40 minutes and will include watching a 12-minute video produced by KOAT and Dr. Barry Ramo, followed by a 15-minute skill session led by a trainer and a short demonstration of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Class participants will learn to assess a victim of sudden cardiac arrest, correctly perform chest compressions, recognize the signs of a heart attack, and more. The CPR class is free and open to the public. Sessions take place at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

  • We previously invited you to attend the 9am session. However, the AIBF Swap Meet starts at 9am on the same day, so we moved to 8am so you could head over to the Swap Meet.
  • If you have already attended a CPR Certification Class or a Compression Only CPR class, you do not need to attend this. But, you're welcome to do so!
  • A merit will be awarded for attending this class. (However, if you have already been CPR Certified or taken this class on another date, a merit will not be given.)
