2016 Museum Thought Leader Survey Results
Earlier this January, MMC surveyed a select group of museum leaders to gain an understanding of the goals and objectives for the coming year. This is the third time we conducted this survey, excluding 2015, and have continued to receive a high response rate (40%). Again this year we analyzed responses from museum leaders throughout the country and across many disciplines and compared them with previous thought leader surveys. Overall, the 2016 survey results indicate a shift from an internal focus on finances to an outward focus on community impact. This finding echoes the needs articulated in our practice-more and more museums are seeking creative strategies to remain relevant to their community. The results in their entirety can be found here.
