Girls Varsity Volleyball Sectionals Tonight
The quarter-final sectional match is scheduled at 6:00 p.m. at Cincinnatus High School.
 
Looking Ahead - STEM Fair 
Students are excited to participate in MPH's annual STEM Fair, Thursday, March 17, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Students are also encouraged to enter the Central New York Science & Engineering Fair (CNYSEF) held on Sunday, March 20 at the SRC Arena on the OCC campus. Students should see their science teacher for CNYSEF registration information. Seven MPH students have already entered! 
 
Winter Break 
Classes will not be in session February 15 - 19. Campus will be closed on Monday, February 15 in observance of Presidents' Day.
 
Community News
 
Winter Carnival - Friday, February 12
The traditional day of fun and folly begins at 10:30 a.m. with the talent show following a morning of academic classes. Afternoon activities (weather permitting) include sledding volleyball, dodge ball, a scavenger hunt and tug-of-war. Students are encouraged monitor the weather and dress appropriately.

Hot Pot Dinner - SOLD OUT!
Thank you to all for the overwhelming response to this event. While tickets for the dinner are sold out, guests are welcome to join in after the meal to see the performance or participate in crafts activities at no cost. If anyone needs to cancel, kindly email [email protected].

All State Music Festival
This Friday and Saturday, February 5 & 6, MPH musicians will participate in the Zone 3 Area All State Festival for grades ten - twelve. MPH is sending thirteen representatives to perform in band, orchestra and chorus. Students will be depart campus at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Good luck!

National Honor Society Event
NHS is holding a "Winter Carnival Carnival" on Thursday, February 11, 7 - 9:00 p.m. featuring music, games and snacks.  Admission is $5 per person and all proceeds will benefit the Glen Paige Nonkilling School in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. 
 
 
Throughout winter carnival week, NHS is also sponsoring a canned food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Central New York. Each of the US classes will be competing to earn points by bringing in the most food. Students should bring their contributions to the appropriate boxes outside the student lounge.

Science Olympiad Update 
Competing against 34 teams, the MPH team of fifteen scientists and three alternates earned 10 medals, covering a wide variety of topics from astronomy to forensics to protein modeling. Congratulations!

Community Programs 
February Vacation Week
Registration is now open for February Vacation Week, February 15-19, for grades PreK - 8. Join the fun at MPH during break to spend time with friends for sports, outdoor fun, playful academics in art and science, crafts, air hockey, treasure hunt, talent show, baking and Pizza Friday. Grades 4-8 may choose optional field trips Monday-Thursday to Revolutions Bowling, Get Air and Sunnycrest Ice Skating Rink. For details click here  or call the Community Programs office.
Summer Programs
MPH Summer Programs brochures are now available. We offer programs for grades PreK - 12 including Camp, Theater, Academic & Enrichment. Online registration opens Sunday, February 7 at 9:00 a.m. For more information, visit the website or call the Community Programs office at 446-2452 x140. Coming soon: information on ½ and ¼ credit summer classes for Grades 9-12.  

LOWER SCHOOL 

Girls on the Run
Curriculum-based Girls on the Run is a ten week program that "utilizes the power of running to provide girls the tools to celebrate themselves, honor their voices and recognize their gifts." Open to girls in grades three - five, Girls on the Run is organized by Joy Strickland; the group will meet at MPH on Monday and Thursday afternoon, 3:15 - 4:30 p.m. The season begins on March 21. The Middle School Dance has been rescheduled to Friday, February 26, 7 - 10:00 p.m. Look for detailed information as the date gets closer. 

UPPER SCHOOL 

Masterminds 
Next meet is Tuesday, February 9 at Solvay, 3:30 p.m. 

Math League
The three Math League Teams, T1, Team 2, and Divide + Conquer, are headed to the county meet at Cicero North Syracuse High School on Saturday. MPH mathematicians will join over 300 other students from area schools. They will be competing for points individually and for their teams, as well as participating in two relay questions. Last week, students completed the team question part of the competition.

Spain/France Trip - Consent Forms
The last day to return consent forms and submit a passport copy is tomorrow, February 5.
