At Challenger Space Center Arizona in Peoria, where students from schools around the state learn about space science, there will not be much fanfare to mark the anniversary. The flag will be lowered to half-staff. The staff will put out an album that includes news articles and remembrances about the space shuttle and its crew.

"Our building alone does it for us every single day," said Tim Harris, the interim director of the space center, which opened in 2000. The center offers exhibits about space exploration, hands-on science experiments and simulated space flights.

Support West Valley Schools with Tax Credit through April 15, 2016

You don't have to have a child in school to contribute to education in Arizona through the School Tax Credit.  Tax credit monies are not used to fund regular school activities. The donations you make can only be used for extracurricular activities, like sports programs, field trips, after-school tutoring programs, after school arts programs, etc. or designated "character education programs." You are allowed to specify which programs you'd like your donation to support.

Read the official information about the Arizona Department of Revenue School Tax Credit. You'll find the links to the lists of eligible schools there.
