Registration Open for Summer Camps
Registration is now open for all Folsom Parks & Recreation summer camps for youth and teens. Camp sessions begin in June and continue through early August, and times vary from a few hours to all-day camps with extended care options. Camp topics include sports, arts and crafts, zoo animals, engineering and robotics, science, dance, learning enrichment, and much more. Applications Available to Sell Fireworks in Folsom
The application window for local nonprofit groups to sell state-approved fireworks in the City of Folsom runs through March 25.  Folsom clubs, such as youth sports groups, school booster clubs, and other civic organizations, are eligible to sell "safe and sane" fireworks to the public during the Fourth of July holiday season as a way to raise money for their Folsom-based organization. Learn more.

Community Service Day Brainstorming Meeting Wednesday
Plans are underway for the third annual Community Service Day, a major citywide event that mobilizes hundreds of volunteers of all ages and interests to complete service projects throughout Folsom. A community brainstorming meeting is planned for Wednesday to explore and identify potential projects. The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Folsom Community Center at 52 Natoma Street.  Learn more.

Food Truck Safari Rolls into Folsom Wednesday
Head over to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16 for delicious food truck fare and live music by Jimmy Ashley. The lineup of SactoMoFo food trucks includes Chando's Tacos, Costa's Finest Kettle Corn, Culinerdy Cruzer, Drewski's Hot Rod, Flavor Face, Gameday Grill, Rudy's on the Roll, Smoker's Wild BBQ, and Smoothie Patrol & Coffee. The Folsom Zoo is located at 403 Stafford Street. This event is held rain or shine, and continues year-round on the third Wednesday of each month.
Preschool Registration for Fall School Year
The Fun Factory Preschool programs for ages 3 and 4, and Kindergarten Readiness for ages 4 and 5, are accepting enrollments for the fall 2016 school year. Both programs are taught by experienced and caring instructors who take great pride in helping youngsters discover the joy of learning. Save the Date: City's 70th Anniversary Jubilee
Step back in time and join us to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the City of Folsom on Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your family and friends for a day of live entertainment, food and fun at the place where it all began-- Historic Folsom. Learn more
Opening Reception for "Fine Furniture" Exhibit
The Gallery at 48 Natoma will host a free public reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 18 for the new exhibit featuring 18 wood artists' skilled and creative work. The reception also features the work of Oak Ridge High School advanced art and design students in the Community Exhibition Gallery. Both galleries are located in the Folsom Public Art Center at 48 Natoma Street. The "Fine Furniture" exhibit continues through May 5; regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Caregiver Seminar March 19
The Folsom Senior Center is hosting a one-day seminar for caregivers on Saturday, March 19. "What Happened to My Life: Healing From and Preventing Compassion Fatigue," will be presented by Julie Interrante, adjunct professor in the Department of Psychology at Sacramento City College. The seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The fee for the seminar is $15 per person and includes a continental breakfast. Call 916-424-4400 for more information and to register.
