Your Voice Matters
The Oklahoma Women's Coalition is tracking 80+ proposed bills that could positively impact the status of women in Oklahoma if passed. These laws would help protect women from workplace discrimination; combat domestic violence; provide access to healthcare; and reduce the number of non-violent female offenders in prison.

Currently, Oklahoma is ranked as the third worst state in the nation for the overall status of women but we believe that this can and will change. The Coalition may need your help in the weeks to come to help support these important bills. Watch your e-mail for legislative alerts!

Equal Pay for Equal Work
Representatives Jason Dunnington & Emily Virgin are pushing for equal pay for women. Although there is a federal law that requires equal pay, women still make less money than men for the same jobs even with the same experience & education in Oklahoma. Oklahoma Women's Coalition joins Oklahomans for Criminal Justice Reform

During the last week in January, Oklahomans for Criminal Justice Reform announced a ballot initiative that will reclassify certain low-level offenses as misdemeanors instead of felonies. This will lower our female non-violent incarcerations and the money saved can be used toward treatment of drug addiction and mental health conditions.  Read more about it here.
