Metal Detecting Event
April 9th
Hunt for History

The Three Seasons Treasure Hunters club based out of Chippewa Falls, WI is hosting a metal detecting event at Tomahawk on April 9th.

In the late 1800's the Tomahawk property was logged by the Knapp-Stout Logging Camp which was located on the south end of Long Lake.  The Three Seasons Treasure Hunters club needs your help to find as many items left behind from the loggers as possible so that those items can be used for educational purposes for future scouts.
Items that camp would like to have found include old logging chains, axe heads, log stamps, and horse and oxen shoes.

If you have a metal detector and would like to join us please register ahead of time. Camping is free, bring your own food and tents. Scouting groups are welcome to arrive on Friday and stay Saturday night too.

Schedule
8am - Kick off - start the day off at a rally point yet to be determined.
11 to 1pm - Lunch
4pm - Wrap up - Show off finds and prize give away.

The purpose for this event is to search for relics from a couple of Logging Camps that occupied the property in the mid to late 1800s.

All Lumber Camp related items found will be turned over to the Scout Reservation to use for educational purposes for future campers.  Anything else found that day be yours to bring home.

Donations are being collected from Hobby related companies to make the hunt more exciting.  Prize tokens will be hidden in the woods for a chance to win.  Specific prizes will be announced the day of the hunt.

Bring your own food and beverages as there will not be anything available on the property and there is nothing close by.
