WTS participated in the North Carolina Local User Group (NCLUG) Summer Conference recently. With more than 200 conference attendees, the NC Triangle chapter hosted a booth to bring awareness to its mission and recruit new members. WTS members Paddy Jordan, Nichette Hill, Jessica Puszynski and Karen Reynolds volunteered during the event, manning the booth, passing out literature and answering questions.

The WTS Luncheon in June featured Richard Adams, PE, of Kimley-Horn discussing the Wake County Transit Choices report and special guest Betty Lou Ward, Wake County commissioner, shown above. Click the links below to see photos of the event or to view Mr. Adams' presentation.

For members looking for networking opportunities within the Chapter, consider joining the Professional Connections program. Each quarter, the members of the program are split into groups of four or five, and each group plans a lunch meeting. This is a good way to meet others in WTS. HDR makes great things possible. The company's 9,200 employees, working in more than 200 locations around the world, strive to do things better and stretch further. As evidence of this, HDR was recently named #9 of the top 500 Design Firms by the Engineering News-Record for 2015. Locally, the firm has had several exciting developments so far this year. HDR continues to expand its service capabilities with the acquisition of Brentwood, Tennessee-based Infrastructure Corporation of America (ICA), which specializes in transportation engineering, asset maintenance and management. Together as HDR | ICA, it can help clients realize the most from their assets - from planning and design through lifelong maintenance. HDR also recently won a key pursuit with Barnhill Contracting Company for the North Carolina Department of Transportation - the Greenville Southwest Bypass. This $160 Million project entails design and construction of a four-lane divided facility on new location. The project will significantly improve traffic flow and congestion on NC 11 and US 264 Bypass while also improving regional travel along the US 264/NC 11 corridor. And finally, with its continuing growth and success in the Triangle area, HDR is pleased to announce that its Raleigh office has moved into a larger space in downtown's new Charter Square Building. Those offices are now located at 555 Fayetteville Street, Suite 900, Raleigh, NC 27601 By embracing our communities, we can help shape a promising future for everyone. |
