Meet Meredith!
Meredith Geraghty has joined the ReImagine team as Twin Cities CDC's new Director of Community Organizing. We are so excited to have her on the team! 

Meredith grew up in Shirley MA and is a long-time resident of North Central Massachusetts. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and has worked for the past seven years to promote sustainable community development. Her work has brought her to a diverse range of locations including Boston, New York, California, Bolivia and El Salvador but right now she is excited to be back working on her home turf. In her free time she loves exploring local parks and playgrounds with her husband and 17- month year old daughter.

Congrats to our Mini-Grant Winners
Many thanks to the organizations that applied to our mini-grant opportunity. The following applicants have been selected to receive awards based on their proposed project's alignment with our mission and goals. Congratulations to the winners and we are looking forward to seeing their projects come together. 
PRIDE will acquire several pianos to be used by local artists and then installed outdoors in public places to encourage local residents to create music. It will try to engage local musicians to make scheduled performances and teach others the basics of piano playing. It will increase social engagement/cultural activity and increase foot traffic.
First Church of God in Christ
The First Church of God in Christ plans to engage high school & college students to help landscape and beautify the lawns of elderly citizens in the North of Main area. The project will increase student understanding of the uniqueness of MA fall foliage, while contributing to the community through landscaping chores.
Growing Places will create a small community orchard at the Sundial Teaching/Community Gardens located on Elm St. that will include North of Main residents to help install, maintain and harvest the fruit from the orchard. Also, they will teach others how to grow, harvest and use their own fresh produce for their household. 
The Fitchburg Historical Society will conduct research for a new historical exhibition on Main Street that will educate the general public about historical importance and highlight the neighborhood's potential for economic development. They will also create new online and printed resources for walking tours, tourist visits and school field trips that will be distributed through walking/driving tours, at schools, and to tourists and FSU students.

UWNCM will distribute books to children who are not currently enrolled in Dolly Parton Imagination Library (DPIL). With the assistance of other organizations, UWNCM would identify families with children of the appropriate age and distribute the books accordingly. The second part of the project is to enroll children into the DPIL program. 
The grant will support the Revolving Museum's initial construction of the ARTventures: Public Art Mobile in collaboration with the public. In short, the project will demonstrate the relationship between art, education, community issues, building a sense of pride, and the creative revitalization of the North of Main neighborhood.
