Tensions in Russia-Turkey relations continue, with more heightened rhetoric and accusations exchanged between the leaders of the two states. Undoubtedly, this further complicates the situation in the Middle East, and highlights a growing international rift over the Syrian crisis.
President Vladimir Putin met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, on the sidelines of the global climate talks in Paris. During the meeting, they agreed to increase bilateral coordination in to avoid clashes between Israeli and Russian military planes in Syrian airspace.
The Israel-Belarus visa abolition agreement reached in September entered into force last week. Both sides hailed the agreement as a landmark event, which will advance bilateral cooperation.
Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Ukraine next week, and will address the Verkhovna Rada. He will be the highest-ranking U.S. official to speak before the Ukrainian parliament since President George H.W. Bush in 1991.Vice President Biden will meet with President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, and other high-level officials to press the government to accelerate political and economic reforms, as well as to reinforce U.S. support for a strong and independent Ukraine.
