New Associate Rector to Start May 15
The Rev. Nadia Stefko, currently a deacon in training at St. John's, Irving Park, will begin at Christ Church on May 15 as our new Associate Rector.  Nadia will be ordained a priest there on Saturday, April 9th.  She is a graduate of Notre Dame where she received highest academic honors including receiving her Phi Beta Kappa.  She earned her M.Div at the University of Chicago Divinity School.  Nadia has been a member of the Sojourners community in Washington, D.C. and she worked for some time as a policy advocate there on issues affecting lower income people.  She has most recently been an organic farmer, working in various capacities at a farm in Grayslake, Illinois.

Nadia brings a variety of interests to parish ministry.  She reconnected to her faith as an adult and discovered the Episcopal Church through her varied life experiences and her continuing desire to discover God in the natural occurrences  of life.  Her focus at Christ Church will center on Pastoral Care and Outreach.  Though she and her family will move closer to Winnetka, she currently lives in Albany Park with her husband Steve Thorngate and her daughters Anna Thorngate (2) and Junia Thorngate (3 mos.)

Saving Your Grand Receipts Helps
Support Youth Mission Trip
This is a slam-dunk fundraiser because we all shop at our wonderful local grocery store (some a lot more frequently than others.) The Grand Food Center (Winnetka & Glencoe) has agreed to sponsor our mission trip and you can help!  Save all your receipts and place them in the labeled collection cans in the Prevost Cloister, McClain Room, Youth Ministry credenza, and church office.  The Grand will give us 3% of all money spent at their store (before taxes).  This will be an on-going endeavor so that we can build a base for scholarships and offset travel costs.  We appreciate your support!
