Our BIG Vision
for Saint Paul's Children - Godly Play
Tuesday, 21, 6:00 - 7:30, at Fr. Jenkins home
This Tuesday, parishioners of all ages and stages of life are invited to gather at the home of Fr. Jenkins to explore our big vision for children's formation and learn about the Godly Play program. Special guest, Mary Hunter Rouse, the Canon for Christian Formation in the Diocese of Atlanta, will share one of the programs most beautiful and foundational stories so that we can see first-hand what the children see.
WE WILL
explore and discuss how best to move the parish
toward becoming "Godly Players",
&
WE WILL
honor your time by concluding no later than 7:30 PM.
WE WILL NOT
ask or expect you to become a children's formation volunteer because you attended this gathering.
All may, none must, some should.

Archbishops of Canterbury & York call for solidarity
with LGBT people after the attack in Orlando
"After Sunday's attack in Orlando as Christians we must speak out in support of LGBT people, who have become the latest group to be so brutally targeted by the forces of evil. We must pray, weep with those affected, support the bereaved, and love without qualification.
"The obligation to object to these acts of persecution, and to support those LGBT people who are wickedly and cruelly killed and wounded, bereaved and traumatised, whether in Orlando or elsewhere, is an absolute call on our Christian discipleship. It arises from the unshakable certainty of the gracious love of God for every human being.
"Now, in this time of heartbreak and grief, is a time for solidarity. May God our Father give grace and comfort to all who mourn, and divine compassion to us all."

2016 LANSING LEE CONFERENCE
October 16 - October 18
Kanuga
The Lansing Lee Conference, named in honor of Lansing B. Lee, Jr., a longtime parishioner of Saint Paul's Church, offers an opportunity to gather in the mountains of North Carolina during the most beautiful time of the year to learn, be inspired and enjoy all that Kanuga has to offer. I hope you will consider attending this year's conference with others from Saint Paul's Church and from throughout the country.
On September 24, 2015, led by Pope Francis, the United States Congress applauded the Golden Rule. The next day, things were back to normal. The 2016 Lansing Lee Conference will consider the question of whether civility and respect as spiritual values are essential to democracy. Led by New York Times writer, Mark Oppenheimer and a panel of thinkers and writers, participants will explore the idea of transformational leadership. As we look toward the elections of 2016, how can the country go from a place of partisanship to engagement?
Join us at Kanuga as we seek to engage public issues
at the intersection of politics and religion.
The annual Lansing Lee Conference honors the memory of Lansing B. Lee Jr. of Saint Paul's Church, Augusta, GA. Lee participated in many aspects of Kanuga's programs and governance for more than 50 years. The conference focuses on the theme "Practicing the Faith" and explores different dimensions of that topic in the context of the world, nation, the Church and society.
