FLIGHTSAFETY INTERNATIONAL named ANDY PARRISH manager of the company's Learning Center in San Antonio, Texas. In addition, the company announced that  Upset Prevention and Recovery training for the Gulfstream GV aircraft is now available at its Learning Center in Wilmington, Delaware. The company's Cessna Citation Mustang simulator received Level D qualification from the EASA and the ANAC. 

L-3 AVIATION PRODUCTS announced that its Display Systems division signed a teaming agreement with Baanto International Ltd. The agreement establishes a relationship that will offer a family of high-performance multi-touch avionics displays to be marketed to military and commercial aircraft customers.

KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY POLYTECHNIC CAMPUS changed its name with approval from the Kansas Board of Regents. The school was formerly known as Kansas State University Salina. 

GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE announced the G500 achieved several flight-test milestones, including surpassing more than 100 hours of flight. The accomplishments come just 12 months after Gulfstream announced the all-new G500 and G600 aircraft programs in an Oct. 14, 2014, ceremony at its Savannah headquarters. The company also announced it has approval from the FAA to install the soon-to-be required communication and surveillance system known as FANS 1/A+ on Gulfstream V aircraft.

SPIRIT AERONAUTICS developed  an avionics upgrade program that modernizes Lockheed C-130H/L-382 Hercules aircraft to allow worldwide flight operations in both military and civil airspace utilizing commercially available equipment that not only provides state-of-the-art landing technology but also adds NextGen capabilities such as ADS-B that can be integrated with FMS for increased safety and reduced aircrew workload. 

TALON AIR completed its new fixed-based operator complex at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, New York, on Long Island. 

VECTOR AEROSPACE announced its support of the new PW100SMART range of service offerings introduced by Pratt & Whitney Canada for PW100 turboprop operators. 

STANDARDAERO named RICK HERRERA field service representative for the Northwestern U.S., Alaska and Hawaii. It also named HENRY YOUNG field service representative for the Asia Pacific region. In addition, the company recently installed its first Gogo Business Aviation UCS-5000 smart router and media server on a Hawker 800XP aircraft.

JUPITER AVIONICS said that Air Medical Resource Group selected Jupiter Avionics to equip its fleet with various JA95 Audio controllers. 

DUNCAN AVIATION announced that DOUG ALLEMAN and MIKE MIHCNOW have joined its senior management team. Alleman is vice president of customer service. Minchow, a member of the AEA board of directors, is vice president of sales. Duncan also added four new sales positions to its parts and rotables sales team in Lincoln, Nebraska. The four appointments included KEITH SCHELL, HANNAH BODENSTAB, LANCE TOPHOJ and JEFF JOHNSON. In addition, the company launched a newly designed website and announced an extension to its engine service authorizations designating the Lincoln, Nebraska, location as a Honeywell AS907 (HTF 7000) Series Minor Maintenance facility.

FREEFLIGHT SYSTEMS said that ASHLEY KELLY and KYLE WILLIAMS rejoined the organization as inside sales manager and regional sales manager, respectively. 

AVIONICA said the FAA approved the company's avCM, a fourth-generation cellular module designed for increased high-speed transmission of flight data. 

TRINE AEROSPACE & DEFENSE named ANDY OLSON general manager. 

COBHAM SATCOM began delivery of its AVIATOR 700D satellite communication systems, which will be implemented within multiple C-130J Super Hercules fleets around the world. 

WEST STAR AVIATION was named a Gold Leader Award winner from the Colorado Governor's Environmental Leadership Program -- the highest level of recognition in ELP. 

ROBOTIC SKIES President and CEO BRAD HAYDEN will moderate a forum during the NBAA Convention on Nov. 17 that will explore opportunities for small unmanned aircraft systems in business aviation. 

KITCHENER AERO announced a recent addition of the full ALPHA product line to its helmet product line offerings. 

SUN AVIATION received certification for the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling. A joint program between the International Business Aviation Council and the National Air Transportation Association, the IS-BAH certification is a global code of best practices for the FBO and business aviation handling agent community. Sun Aviation is the second FBO in the U.S. to earn this distinction. 

ELLIOTT AVIATION announced the launch of the 400E program, a full Beechjet 400A/Hawker 400XP refurbishment including Garmin G5000 avionics with a Lumatech LED master warning panel, Gogo Wi-Fi with Gogo Vision (on-demand movies), an exterior paint design and a completely redesigned, weight-saving interior. 

The GENERAL AVIATION MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION established a new associate member category for electric and hybrid propulsion aircraft. 

HONEYWELL AEROSPACE employee BARBARA BROCKETT, vice president of engineering test services, was honored by The Society of Women Engineers with the Suzanne Jenniches Upward Mobility Award at the annual WE15 conference, for women in engineering and technology. 

JEPPESEN said that Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently achieved paperless flight operations using Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro as its electronic flight bag solution. 

GARMIN announced expanded availability of its obstacle database to now include Canada for select Garmin portables and certified avionics. According to Garmin, man-made structures such as towers that are greater than 200 feet AGL are included within this database. Additionally, an obstacle database tailored to helicopter operators includes man-made structures that are greater than 10 feet AGL. 

STARPORT has partnered with Manion Aviation, a firm that will provide MRO service sales representation for StarPort's Part 145 repair station and modifications facility.
