Olsen Barn and Meadow Saved!
Together we accomplished something big.
We permanently protected a historical treasure and a 107-acre sierra meadow for all to enjoy!
Over 450 donors and hundreds of hours of volunteer time made the purchase of the Olsen Barn property possible.

Together with you, the Lake Almanor community, and your local Land Trust we raised $800,000 in a short eight months to purchase and conserve the 107-acre Olsen Barn and meadow property.

As of 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 22 Feather River Land Trust became the proud owner of this remarkable landscape and future park-preserve.

While FRLT holds the deed, in spirit this special place belongs to the people--residents and visitors alike--and the wildlife of the Lake Almanor Basin.  The Save Olsen Barn committee thanks YOU for helping make the seemingly impossible possible. Now it's time to celebrate!

You are invited: Olsen Barn Celebration--Saturday, November 14
Join FRLT, friends, and fellow nature-enthusiasts for a party at the Olsen Barn on Saturday, November 14th to celebrate the purchase of the Olsen Barn and Meadow property.

The party will begin at 1pm with a guided walk through the field and creekside forest and end with bubbly beverages and a toast. (Want to help? Please bring an appetizer to share). Come for the entire celebration or join us at the barn at 3pm to raise a glass for this conservation win!    Party details here.

Wondering what's next for the Olsen Barn? At the gathering, the Olsen Barn stewardship team will have information about management needs for the property, ideas about access and trails, barn stabilization and restoration, and a draft budget for the next phases of work.

We want your input! Stories, visions, and dreams for this park-preserve property are needed. Let's continue this collaborative, community conservation effort. Give us a call if you have questions or comments. 530-283-5758.
