Patient Portal Tips: Consultation Advice
Due to a policy change, Women's Health Practice is now to fax requests to referring physicians if we are requesting a consultation. Once you are seen at a referral office, the physician typically writes us a follow-up report. This report is our confirmation of your visit, any assessments they did, and notification of their treatment plan for you.

However, to assure that your chart is up to date and to give you the best follow-up care possible, we ask that you call our office or use Patient Portal to give us the name of the referring physician and the date and time of your appointment. This way we can be sure you have received the care you need. Thank you for using Women's Health Practice for your care. We appreciate the trust you have in us.
Don't Let Menopausal Symptoms Go Untreated
With so much new menopausal research underway, there are now more reasons than ever to get your symptoms treated. Several studies show that menopausal vasomotor symptoms (VMS) and sexual symptoms are undertreated in all age groups. A study published online in Menopause found a "high prevalence of untreated moderate to severe hot flashes and sexual symptoms" among a survey of menopausal women. In addition, the various treatments for vaginal health, including vaginal estrogen, non-hormonal prescription therapy, and laser treatments, are underutilized by all age groups. The authors report, "Taken together with evidence that dyspareunia [pain during sex] increases from early menopause to late menopause, our findings indicate that vulvovaginal atrophy remains undertreated across all postmenopausal age groups."

Women's Health Practice can help you get relief from the symptoms of menopause. Hormonal, non-hormonal, and laser therapies are available depending on your individual needs. Call 217-356-3736 today or go online to schedule a personal consultation.
