National Nutrition Month
March is National Nutrition Month in the US, and what better way to observe it than to review the Scientific Report of the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee?

The HHS and the USDA jointly publish the Dietary Guidelines report every 5 years, each time updating their recommendations according to the latest scientific studies.

This year's report relaxes restrictions on cholesterol, but suggests that 90% of Americans eat too much solid fat and added sugar. Vitamin D, calcium, potassium, and fiber are among the nutrients that many American diets are lacking.

Concerned about maintaining adequate nutrition, especially during pregnancy? Want to know what implications the new dietary guidelines may have for managing a medical condition? Book an appointment or call us at 356-3736 to begin the discussion with your gyno.
Endometriosis Awareness Month
Get educated about this common but overlooked disease during Endometriosis Awareness Month.

Endometriosis is a painful condition that occurs when tissue of the uterine lining grows in other areas of the body, especially in the abdominal cavity. This tissue bleeds and sheds just as the uterine lining does, but it cannot exit the body and instead forms scar tissue, lesions, and cysts. It may cause infertility. Visit the Endometriosis Association website at www.endometriosisassn.org for more information.

If you're experiencing a concerning or disabling amount of abdominal pain, especially during menstruation, sex, or urination, endometriosis may be the culprit. It can't be cured, but it can be effectively managed. Book and appointment or call us at 356-3736 if you are ever enduring unusual or chronic pain.

Patient Portal Tips
Don't see your lab results in Patient Portal? Here are a few reasons why you may experience a delay:
  • Your results may not be back from the lab yet.
  • Your physician may not have checked your results yet.
  • The lab may make additional requests before processing your results.
  • Your results may have come from a lab that is not connected to Patient Portal. If you are enrolled in a research study, your results are labeled with an ID number and not with your name.
  • A processing error may have occurred.
Most routine lab results will appear in 2-3 days. Results of complex tests, such as hormone testing, may take one week to appear. Please call our office at 217-356-3736 for assistance if your results are not made available in this time frame.

  • Significant improvements in reducing urgency, incontinence episodes, frequency, and nighttime voids
  •  Durable results with about one treatment a month
  • Office treatment with virtually no recovery time or lingering side-effects!
Book an appointment with WHP or call 356-3736 if you would like to know more about this exciting treatment that may improve your quality of life!
